A sense of responsibility is one of the core values we cherish. It is found at the very heart of our activity, in our commitment to being a trusted partner for our clients. To achieve this, we strive to protect their interests and to observe all applicable regulations, in Monaco and in all of the Indosuez Wealth Management group's entities.
Another natural component of our commitment to responsibility is our recognition of the need for sustainable development. This is a priority for CFM Indosuez, which sponsors various initiatives in this area in partnership with the Principality.
For example, in 2003, with the support of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, CFM Indosuez Wealth set up a specialised sustainable development investment fund – CFM Indosuez Monaco Environnement Développement Durable – to put financial investments to work in this area.
We also have a forward-looking approach to our Corporate Social Responsibility, shared with the Crédit Agricole group, which is one of the world’s top-rated banks in this area. This approach is based on respect – respect for our clients, our employees and the environment.
Our CSR programme, which is named FreD, comprises 15 long-term projects in Monaco. Some are broad in scope, for example the enhancement of our systems to ensure that the investment solutions we recommend are suited to each client’s risk profile, while others have a more local focus, such as our IT hardware recycling initiative. The bank’s IT equipment is reformatted to meet the new users' requirements and is then donated to children's charity AMADE (the World Association of Children's Friends), of which we are an active partner.
The protection of children is another of the major causes we espouse and CFM Indosuez is a proud supporter of AMADE. Founded in 1963 by Princess Grace of Monaco, AMADE was one of the first international charities set up to serve this important cause. It works to allow all children, whatever their social, religious or cultural origins, to be able to live with dignity and security and with their fundamental rights fully respected.
Recent initiatives we have supported in this area include our involvement in a programme to fund secondary education for orphans and vulnerable children in Burundi, as well as our support for the digitalisation of textbooks in the country.
At a very different level, but also important given our local origins and ties, we are committed to raising Monaco’s profile, and in particular that of its cultural assets. We have been an official partner of the Monte-Carlo Ballet since 1999, and of the Prince Pierre Foundation. CFM Indosuez Wealth Management also sponsors many cultural, charity and sporting events.
